When Secret Service agents checked his backpack, they found a large knife, handcuffs, water pistol, M100 firecracker and a garrote, the sources said. It wasn’t clear what the garrote, a weapon used to strangle a person, was made of.
“I always walk with them,” he said when asked why he had the items, the sources said.
Wang, who is from upstate Poughquag, was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal possession in the fourth degree and unlawful possession of fireworks, police said.
Additional fireworks were found inside his dorm room at Baruch College, the sources said.
