Holster for Light AND Optic?

I see plenty of holster options for guns with optics, and I see plenty of options for guns with rail-mounted lights. Is there such a holster that can accommodate both? Maybe even (dare I suggest) some form of retention besides friction? The ultimate bonus would be if I could holster and unholster with a can on the end.

But I suppose if I needed a gun to do that much, I should just bring a rifle, huh.

San Fransisco's last gun shop closes

San Fransisco's last gun shop closes

After being in business since the 1950's , High Bridge Arms has thrown in the towel after the city of San Fransisco enacted new regulations that require video tape of all transactions and turn it over to police on a weekly basis. Basically this was the straw that broke the camel's back.

The shop feels that the city is specifically targeting them. Already they been ordered to have video cameras on the exterior, barriers outside around the shop and cannot display ads in their store window.

It's a shame how San Fransisco intimidated High Bridge Arms into going out of business and it can happen elsewhere as well. We have read about the proposal in Seattle to tax ammo and guns. We need to challenge these ordinances and proposals, maybe the next shop that closes might be the one in your own town.

Colorado Sheriffs Have Their Day in Court

http://ift.tt/1GgyUHL

Quote:

A group of sheriffs from different Colorado counties are moving forward with their fight to repeal stricter state gun laws put in place three years ago.
Those laws limit the capacity of ammunition magazines and expand background checks on gun purchases in Colorado.
Sheriffs like Garfield County Sheriff Lou Vallario say they are committed to fighting to protect what they say is citizens’ Second Amendment rights.
Dozens of current and former sheriffs gathered in Denver on Monday along with gun rights groups at the Byron White Courthouse. Many of those individuals are named in a lawsuit which challenges Colorado’s new laws.
Many of the sheriffs say the gun laws in question are unenforceable. One example, they say, of a violation that is nearly impossible to enforce is when someone lends a gun to a friend.
A district court previously rejected the sheriffs’ claims but they appealed the case to the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
“If we stop there then look at all the decisions that were ultimately decided in the Supreme Court that would’ve never been decided and what’s in the best interests of this country, so we want to make sure that we have the opportunity for the full process — the full justice system — to hear out our claims and our opinion and our side of this,” Vallerio said.
Each side was given approximately 30 minutes to make their case on Monday morning before a three-judge panel. That’s double the amount of the time the court usually allows for their cases.
Four to five months is the usual amount of time it takes for a decision in civil cases like this one, but a ruling could come down much sooner.
The Colorado Attorney General’s Office issued a statement saying it was “appreciative of the court’s time and consideration” during Monday morning’s arguments. They wrote that AG Cynthia Coffman “on behalf of Gov. John Hickenlooper is seeking clarity of the law in this matter and looks forward to the panel’s decision.”
Let's hope that we can get some relief here in Colorado on the magazine ban at the very least.

No OC For National Guard At Nicholasville Waffle House

lundi 28 septembre 2015

Who would have thought that a Waffle House in Kentucky would refuse to serve anybody for openly carrying a firearm? I'd have been more likely to think that being armed would be a requirement, sort of like the "No shirt, no shoes, no service" rule, or finer dining establishments requiring that gentlemen wear a jacket and tie. But apparently the owner of several central Kentucky Waffle House restaurants, including at least some in Lexington, has a no guns policy but doesn't post any signs so they don't get the lost business from Kentuckians who object to their disarmament policy. The story is getting a bit of national attention and they may be getting some push back against their no guns policy.

If you'd like to provide some kind and respectful feedback t the owner of these Waffle House locations....

Defenseless Prosecutors

Just when you thought things in NY couldn't get any more stupid...

THIS

HAPPENS

THERE

Scroll down to the very bottom on that last link.

I can't think of a more idiotic move than to disarm one of the higher value targets for criminals. Whats next? Banning judges from owning guns? Hey, here's a great idea Long Island! Ban the COPS from having guns. Then the city will be perfectly safe. No more young criminals shot by those stormtrooper style police.

Southern NV open carry facebook have anything to do with this site?

The reason I ask is because one of the moderators over at "Southern Nevada Open Carry" Facebook page is a complete ****** and is attempting to throw his weight around by telling people what they can or can't say and banning people from the group. Reminds me of the kid who always ran his mouth at school until somebody gave him a good whipping. Anyways, if they continue to treat people this way than the page will be non existent. There always has to be one guy hiding behind a keyboard who is a tough guy. Rant over...

Court now okays police conducting warrantless searches of your car.

http://ift.tt/1Wqrqvg
Quote:

n Thursday, police were give the authority to search a vehicle without a warrant if they have probable cause to believe there is contraband or evidence of a crime as long as the circumstances that led to the probable cause are unforeseeable and spontaneous.

In other words, cops in New Jersey, can now make up any reason they want to search your private property.

“One can only wonder why the State and the majority of this Court find it appropriate to turn from the progressive approach historically taken in this State to privacy and constitutional rights of motorists,” Justice Jaynee LaVecchia wrote in her dissent.

The door has once again been left wide open for abuse by police in searching vehicles. With the billions stolen annually from innocent people in the name of civil asset forfeiture, does it seem like a good idea to give police even more power to violate the rights of the citizens?

New reason to obtain Arkansas license to carry concealed handguns

vendredi 25 septembre 2015

As most folks who follow the fascinating saga of the development of Arkansas' gun carry laws knows, no license is generally required to open carry or conceal carry a handgun in public. In fact, the Arkansas conceal carry statute does not set forth any penalty for carrying a concealed handgun without a license, and any effort to prosecute a person for carrying a concealed handgun without a license would be both (1) void for vagueness, and (2) violative of the rule of lenity.

Traditionally, there were two uses for the Arkansas license to conceal carry a handgun in public: (1) to carry concealed handguns in states forbid generally the concealed carry of handgun, but accept Arkansas' permit to conceal handguns; and (2) to immunize Arkansas concealed carry license holders from federal prosecution for carrying firearms within 1,000 feet of any K-12 school.

But now comes Faulkner County's effort to legalize concealed carry on County and Courthouse property for employees who hold an Arkansas' permit to conceal handguns.

See more at http://ift.tt/1NZIhUj

FAULKNER COUNTY, Ark. - The Faulkner County Quorum Court is considering a new ordinance that would allow licensed county employees to carry a concealed handgun on county property as allowed under a new law passed in the 2015 legislative session, officials say.

No More Guns In San Fransisco

jeudi 24 septembre 2015

Last gun store in San Fran closes after new laws take effect.

Well, it finally happened. The first major city (that I know of, anyways) to run all gun shops out of it in the modern day and age. This is it. This will be a serious litmus test for the Antis. We need to mark this day, ladies and gents. We need to look at their crime stats every year on this this date so we can literally cram it down their throats that banning guns does not work.

Yes, we can already look at the stats from places like London or Sydney or cities in any other rabid gun hating country, but this is the US. We are a different people. Yes, we've seen the numbers from Chicago, DC, NYC and other places with draconian gun laws, and they're abysmal to say the least. But this is a modern day, national-mass-shooting-paranoia test case. Now we will have out there the truth for all to see when this entire plan backfires.

VCDL Endorsements and Candidate Surveys

The VCDL PAC endorsements seem much more even handed than its prior election endorsements. They seem to be based primarily upon the candidate surveys. Still we have to wonder why the only Very Pro Gun rated candidate in the Senate that was not endorsed was the Libertarian.

The most striking part of the survey result is how few candidates actually answered the VCDL survey.

Open carry when stopping for gas ?

So law permits open carry when traveling to or from fishing, correct?

What if I stop to gas up and maybe go in to get a soda? Any case law on this?

I would think it is legal as statute does not specify "no stops along the way"

Not looking to be the experimental citizen just curious what has occurred in past?

Non-firearm self defense for a Lyft driver?

mercredi 23 septembre 2015

Hello,
I've begun driving with the Lyft service, it's the same kind of thing as Uber and Sidecar. It is not permitted to carry a firearm for self defense according to the company's policy (and that wouldn't be a great choice for self defense in that situation anyway IMO) I was wondering what your opinions were on the best self defense product for this sort of situation, were I'm driving someone who becomes violent and I'm forced to defend myself. Tasers and stun guns are illegal to possess in the particular city I live in on the west coast, so I was thinking Mace, or a baton. What do you guys think the best option would be between those, or any other product?

18 U.S. Code § 1752

I'm tracking the restrictions here in Seattle due to the Chinese presidents visit and have run across this nasty bit of federal code used to scare people away from areas the police and secret service have decided to block off. My point is two fold

1) This is being used to stop people from exercising their first Amendment rights not limited to but including copblocking and protesting and

2) I notice it states in black and white

Quote:

(b) The punishment for a violation of subsection (a) is—
(1) a fine under this title or imprisonment for not more than 10 years, or both, if—
(A) the person, during and in relation to the offense, uses or carries a deadly or dangerous weapon or firearm; or
(B) the offense results in significant bodily injury as defined by section 2118(e)(3); and
(2) a fine under this title or imprisonment for not more than one year, or both, in any other case.
So anybody OCing in a public area could get himself thrown in jail for 10 years simply for exercising a right. And how does one refute the idea polise and SS agents can close a public road off for 'security' at will?

Puncturing the slavery myth, Constitutionally, Slavery Is No National Institution.

"THE Civil War began over a simple question: Did the Constitution of the United States recognize slavery — property in humans — in national law? Southern slaveholders, inspired by Senator John C. Calhoun of South Carolina, charged that it did and that the Constitution was proslavery; Northern Republicans, led by Abraham Lincoln, and joined by abolitionists including Frederick Douglass, resolutely denied it. After Lincoln’s election to the presidency, 11 Southern states seceded to protect what the South Carolina secessionists called their constitutional “right of property in slaves.”
