Black Friday set a new single-day record for the number of firearms background checks

The National Instant Criminal Background Check System processed 185,713 transactions that day, surpassing the previous single-day record set on Black Friday in 2015, according to FBI spokesman Stephen Fischer. The previous record was 185,345 checks in one day.
