To begin, I would not find this defendant guilty of anything ....
1) cops respond to call of alleged domestic violence (while charged with this, this count was dismissed)
2) cops go up to dwelling demanding that the defendant talk to them
3) defendant tells them to drop dead basically and commands them off his property
4) cops do not leave and do not state he is under arrest but continue in trying to contact the defendant
5) cops provoke defensive measures taken by the defendant
IMO the defendant had every right to use whatever force is needed to kick the trespassers off his land (now the cops did not ask him to come out and when he told them to get off his land then say he was under arrest).
This is one example of one of many reasons for our RKBA .....
