Wisconsin AG Schimel joins brief asking SCOTUS to strike down San Francisco gun law.

jeudi 8 janvier 2015

Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel has wasted no time showing how he feels about gun rights, joining a brief in support of an NRA challenge of a California law. In his first week on the job, Schimel on Thursday announced he has joined more than two dozen other state attorneys general in signing onto a brief asking the U.S. Supreme Court to decide the constitutionality of a San Francisco ordinance requiring handguns be kept in locked containers or disabled when not in use or being carried.

QUESTION PRESENTED

Is San Francisco’s attempt to deprive law-abiding

individuals of immediate access to operable handguns

in their own homes any more constitutional than the

District of Columbia’s invalidated effort to do the

same?
